Lowland Bolivia

Got into Bolivia Via Corumba and the DEATH TRAIN (http://wikitravel.org/en/Santa_Cruz_(city,_Bolivia)) and got to Santa Cruz. Basically a city of no's. We wanted to go Karting - nope cant do that, it's shut, we wanted to go raving, no cant do that, wrong day, we wanted to go the Aqualand, no cant do that it only opens on the weekend, and it kept on in that vein. anyway - was a pretty pace and the people were interesting, very right wing and against Evo et al who they consider to be meddling socialists sitting in the hills. Main attraction was the pet Toucan at the backpackers, which was a vicious little bugger and almost ate my hand... and after all the hassle to try and get a photo of one in the Pantanal...
