Heading for the Hills

After the hecticness of carnaval and Rio, at an average of 35degrees a colder place was called for. Headed for the Hills. Found Minas Gerais to be a beautiful place, cooler, calmer and mountainous. Went to Tiradentes, Ouro Petro and São João del Rei. Donkeys and cobbles, and churches and mountains. and less alcohol.

Tiradentes....

São João del Rei

old train station to Tiradentes

these are everywhere, surely racist in the UK, but apparently not here.

Lovely church...

...in a building site, with rubbsih trcuks passing through...

Tiradentes again - and the mountain to be climbed...

Ant army!

Spookily perfect tree no?

Ouro Petro
